Fold the panels, open up the view
Bi-fold doors link glazed panels on hinges so they fold together to one side or divide into groups. When open, the folded panels collect at the edge of the opening rather than remaining across it. Consider where the stack will sit and how much clear access you need.
Choose the layout around everyday access
The Korniche brochure illustrates configurations up to seven door leaves. REHAU also describes multi-fold arrangements with up to seven panes. A traffic door can provide everyday access without opening the full folding set, where the configuration allows. Suitable panel counts and dimensions depend on the selected system and your opening.
Korniche aluminium: strength with considered detailing
Korniche uses thermally broken, powder-coated aluminium frames. Its polyamide thermal breaks separate the inner and outer frame sections to limit heat transfer. Concealed seals and coordinated handles contribute to the clean appearance. Stainless-steel tracks, sealed bearings and articulated guides are designed to support smooth folding operation.
PVCu: coordinate with your windows
REHAU multi-fold doors offer a PVCu option that can coordinate with REHAU window and door finishes. The brochure describes flexibility in pane count and master-door position. Compare the frame appearance, colour and opening arrangement alongside the aluminium option to choose what works with your home.
Make the threshold part of the plan
Korniche offers standard and integrated-cill threshold arrangements, with cill and frame-extension options. The appropriate choice depends on floor levels, drainage and installation position. A lower step-over needs to be considered with weather protection and access requirements rather than chosen on appearance alone.
Finish both sides your way
Korniche offers stock and bespoke powder-coated colours, including different colours inside and outside. Handles and shootbolt hardware have coordinated finish choices. REHAU provides colour and laminate finishes for its PVCu system. We will confirm the available combination for your selected range.
Integral blinds without a separate hanging blind
The Korniche brochure includes Venetian Uni-Blinds sealed between the glass panes and operated by a magnetic slider. This keeps the blind within the glazing while allowing the slats to be raised and tilted. Glass, blind colours and control finishes need to be specified together; availability will be confirmed with your quotation.
Agree the complete specification
Frame, glass, hardware and configuration work together. Korniche’s brochure qualifies its enhanced-security specification by the use of the specified laminated glass, so it should not be assumed for every glazing choice.
